She married Sajid Nadiadwala in May 1992. Her career was cut short by her death in April 1993. The investigation into the circumstances of her death was closed in 1998, and the exact nature of her death still remains a mystery. Divya's two completed films, Rang and Shatranj, were released months after her death. These films, in addition to several films produced by her husband Sajid Nadiadwala, were dedicated to her memory.
