X Factor contestant Chris Rene gets a standing ovation.
Hey everyone this is Nora Gasparian for Hollyscoop. X Factor made its debut last night and theshow-stopping performance came from 28-year-old trash hauler, Chris Rene.
Chris has been battling drug addiction for the last 10 years and is currently struggling to raise his 2 year old son. 70 days sober, he gave one heck of a performance of his own original song called "Young Homie."
When he first got on stage, no one really expected Chris to have that sort of talent. He seemed like a regular dude in an oversized white t shirt and the judges rolled their eyes when he told them that he would be singing his own song.
The eye rolling definitely stopped about 30 seconds into the song.
Every judge was bobbing along to the catchy radio-ready song, well except Simon, but "head bobbing" isn't really his thing.
The X-Factor was THE weepiest show on television last night.
